Inspirational technical visit to waste treatment plants and urban development project in Vienna, Austria
Students from Green Building course had an opportunity to visit three inspirational places in Vienna, Austria. The first one was Spitteau/Waste Inceration Plant in heart of Vienna, recognisable by its remarkable architecture envisioned by Hundertwasser. Second was urban development project / neighborhood Seestadt Aspern Tour, where the focus was on sustainable urban planning, energy-efficient design strategies, and community-focused development. Finally, visit finished with visiting construction and demolition facility PORR RCH Himberg.
To strengthen the entire visit towards sustainability, students had an opportunity to stay at magdas hotel in Vienna, example of a Social Business focusing on people. At magdas, the idea is to create purposeful jobs and offer a profound training program for people who had to flee their countries from all over the world. Magdas offers such individuals adaptation and training to become professional hosts in the hotel industry.
